He was predeceased by: his parents, Walde Embretson and Myrtle Embretson (Olson); and his sister Marleen Zearley. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Kuhse of Newhall; his children, Dawn Embretson of Atkins and Michael Embretson (Becki) of Atkins; and his grandchildren, Grant, Grace and Anna Embretson.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
