He was predeceased by: his parents, James and Mabel; his sister Kit (Nancy); his son-in-law Mark Novotny; his former wife Molly; and also James.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Joan Thorpe; his children, David Ster of Marion, IA, Cheri Boots (Alan) of Sunrise, FL, Barb Novotny of Streamwood, IL, Paul Ster (Janelle) of Robins, IA and Shawn Ster of Marion, IA; his grandchildren, Adam, Beth, Nick (Allison), Justin (Angela), Joe (Laura), Jessica, Nicole (Chris), Ian, Joshua, Stephen and Allison; and his stepchildren, Cathy Webb (Lee), David Simpson (Nancy) and Annie Simpson. He is also survived by 3 step-great-grandchildren; along with many adoring nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Mike's name.
