It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Jeane Finch (Chariton, Iowa), who passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harriett Alice Swanson Draegert and Addison Ludolph Draegert; her husband Charles Finch (Chuck); and her sons, Christopher Finch (Liz) and Craig Finch.
She is survived by: her children, Wendy Finch-Levis (Tom), Bobbie, Charles and Finch Conoco; her brother Joe Draegert (Beth); her grandchildren, Megan Gazda (Jim), Travis Finch (Cassi), Maria Finch, Tucker Levis (Janna) and Hunter Levis; and her great grandchildren, Garrett Gazda and Rhys Finch.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church- Chariton (923 Roland Ave, Chariton, IA 50049). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Chariton Cemetery (901 Main St, Chariton, IA 50049). Her passion for service found a larger stage in 1973, when she established and led the Lucas County Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), building it into one of the most respected programs of its kind in the state.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lucas County Senior Center in Chariton, continuing Bobbie's lifelong commitment to service.
