Jean Peters Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jean Peters of Charles City, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 13, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Jean departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Jean. Though Jean may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Marion and Gertrude Marion (Westover); her husband Jack McGowan; her sons, Michael, Patrick and Terry McGowan; her sisters, Donna Kaeser and Shirley Sluga; and her grandsons, Robert McGowan and Michael McGowan.
She is survived by: her granddaughters, Courtney Maskarina and Raechel Boecker. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory (101 W Main St, New Hampton, IA 50659). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Boniface Catholic Church (204 E Prairie St, Ionia, IA 50645).
