She was predeceased by: her parents, George Donaldson and Lorraine Donaldson (Welch). She is survived by: her former husband Ronald Ries; her stepchildren, Chad and Ryan; her children, Lorraine Vanderpool (Brian) of Gillet Grove, IA, Elizabeth Ries (Chuck) of Spencer, IA and Jacob Ries (Erin) of Spencer, IA; her close friend Joseph Hayes of Cherokee, IA; and her siblings, Irv Donaldson (Chris) of Carver, MN, George Donaldson (Mae) of Fridley, MN and Sandra Donaldson of Waterloo, IA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Starting in 2020 she made and donated hundreds of face masks for the nursing home in Albert City, the employees at Hy-Vee and Dollar General, Cherokee Police and Firefighters, every person in her family and extended family, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
