Lorace R. Gregg Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lorace R. Gregg of Cherokee, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 12, 2025 at the age of 83. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lorace R. Gregg to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Gregg and Emily Gregg (Gilbert); his former wife Kathy Gregg; his brothers, Orville Gregg and Vernon Gregg; and his brother-in-law Ralph Sudbeck.
He is survived by: his wife Arta Bakker of Cherokee; his children, Vance (Susan Gregg), Kellie (Stu Hogg), Rosann (Matt Trahms) and David (Holly Bakker); his grandchildren, Raymond Gregg, Megan Finch (Nate), Allison Gregg, Elspeth, Eoin, Eibhlin Hogg, Jack Trahms, James Trahms (Avery), Emma Trahms, Anna Trahms and Luke Bakker (Jade); his great grandchildren, Jason Finch, Paislee, Hadlee and Blaire Bakker; his sister Clara Subeck of Ames; and his sisters-in-law, Marlys Gregg, Ellen Gregg and Francine Hamil. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Boothby Funeral Home (207 E Main St, Cherokee, IA 51012). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Oakdale Evangelical Free Church (1207 450th St, Meriden, IA 51037).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Oakdale Evangelical Free Church.
