She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred Godfrey and Ina Godfrey (Hunter); her son-in-law Steve Schmillen; her granddaughter Sue Schmillen; her great grandchild Gemma Ladenthin; her siblings, Ralph Godfrey and Pauline Smith; and her siblings-in-law, Don Smith, Cecil Irwin, Beverly Godfrey, Beverly Irwin and Bonnie Irwin.

She is survived by: her children, Ina Schmillen of Elkhorn, Ila Overholt (Jim) of Chandler, Alayda Ladenthin (Phil) of Marcus and Dr. Tom Irwin (Jan) of Cherokee, Iowa; her grandchildren, Michelle Clinton, Cyndi Robirds (Josh), Sherry Minge (Jim), Elisa Overholt (Jun), Dr. Kari Hayeck (Garry), Megan Roberts (Spencer), Krista Dirks (Bryan), Jason Ladenthin (Stephanie), Scot Ladenthin (Colleen), Melissa Kieling, Dr. Nathan Irwin, Jaclyn Petersen (Scott) and Dr. Allison Wilcox (Derrick); and her brother-in-law Dean Petersen of Cleghorn, Iowa. She is also survived by 37 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren.
