He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Findley and Viola Findley; his daughter Christine; and his sister Joanne Ammons. He is survived by: his wife Natalia Findley; his son Joe Findley; his stepson Vonny; his sister Joy Johnson (Rick Johnson); and his grandchildren, Meaghan Findley and Curran Findley. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family is requesting memorials to be sent to the American Cancer Society in James name.
