He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Minear and Beatrice Minear of Clive. He is survived by: his wife Coleen Nichols; his children, Candee and Randy (Ginger); his grandchildren, Meggie Rundall, Matt Rundall, Emily Noyce (Dan) and Scott Minear; his sister Sue Van Doren (Jan); his nephews, Andy Van Doren, Eric Van Doren and Hugh Nichols (Marcia); and his sister-in-law Rosalie Shoafstall.

Memorial contributions may be made to West Des Moines Christian Church.
