He was predeceased by : his parents, Karl Pearson and Roxie Gooch Pearson; and his sister Linda. He is survived by : his wife Sandra Tuinstra; his son Todd (Jennifer); and his sister Dawn Kalkwarf.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to benefit Idiopathic Pulmonary Research at National Jewish Health, Denver, Colorado, or directed to the Pearson Family Charitable Fund in care of Westover Chapel, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines, Iowa 50322.
