It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell W. Schmidt (Coggon, Iowa), born in Montezuma, Iowa, who passed away on September 10, 2019, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Schmidt and Winifred Schmidt (Rivers); and his siblings, Henry, Harold and Bessie Bailey.
He is survived by : his wife Gertrude Anna Butcher; and his children, Douglas Schmidt (Norma) of Coggon, Russilla "Rusty" Holub (Blaine) of Central City, Donald Schmidt (Valerie) of Manchester and Rhonda McElree of Anamosa. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Russell's memory has been established.
