He was predeceased by: his father Marvin Carlson; his parents-in-law, Louis Kasper and Viola Kasper; and his siblings-in-law, Russ Grout, Laurie Buck and Teresa O'Neil.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Carlson of Columbus Junction; his children, Bret Carlson of Iowa City, Ali Carlson (Kyle Palmersheim) of Marion and Jeremy O'Neil (Melissa) of Indianola; his grandchildren, Kate and Patrick O'Neil; his mother Eileen Carlson of Columbus Junction; and his brother Dennis Carlson of Houston, TX.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Mike.
