She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Hesseltine and Callie Hesseltine (Boyd); her husband Richard A. Utter; her son Thomas; her daughter-in-law Janet Utter; her granddaughters, Carrie Finke and Misty Long; her great grandchild Ava Roness; and her brother Bob Hesseltine.
She is survived by: her children, Robert Utter (Nance) of Columbus Junction, Janine Utter (Bill Dull) of Columbus Junction, Jim Utter (Marquita) of Des Moines and Julie Beuter (Ted) of Center Point. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many, many nieces, and nephews.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church or Columbus Junction Public Library in memory of Phyllis.
