He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Joe" Milton and Helen Margaret Moore (Young); and his grandson Ryley Joseph Moore. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Margaret Moore; his children, Alan "Joe" Joseph Moore, Sean Michael Moore and Joellen Ann Roberson; his grandchildren, Quinton, Ayden, Kieron, Charlotte, Finnian, Mearah, Maverick and Norie; and his sister Joellen Shoemaker of Iowa City.
