He is survived by: his mother Dixie Hempel, Sr. (Michaels); his son Donald Hempel III (Theresa Salvatore); his siblings, Jojo, Emily, Lesa Higgins (Mike), Bill Hempel (Chris), Alan Hempel and Tammy Wageman; and his granddaughter Sonia Hempel. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home (1221 N 16th St, Council Bluffs, IA 51501). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
