It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kathryn Kaye McMartin of Council Bluffs, Iowa, born in Spencer, Iowa, who passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Orlo Marvin and Winnie Clarabelle Mincer (Carr); her husband James McMartin; her granddaughter Samantha Jo McMartin; her brothers, Bill Mincer, Bob Mincer and Ted Mincer; her brothers-in-law, Rich Fiddelke and Donnie Hendricks; and also, Bill and Muriel McMartin.

She is survived by : her children, Peggy Bertelson, Daniel McMartin and Kimberly Schilling (Charlie); her grandchildren, Jon Karstens (Shelbie), Brad Karstens (Megan), Emily Karstens, Cassandra Schilling, Megan McMartin and Sydney Schilling; her sisters, Lola Anderson, Marvel Caskey (Bob), Kathy Hendricks, Mary Homfeld (Lester), Patty Mincer and Shirley Mincer; her pet Mia; and her caregiver Kaye. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
