He was predeceased by : his father Gail Clausen; his parents-in-law, Frank and Majel Palmquist; and his grandparents, John, Catherine Hall, Claus and Elsie Clausen.
He is survived by : his mother Lucymae Clausen (Hall); his son Nicolas; his wife Linnea Clausen of Craig, IA; his children, Nicholas Burnett (Stephanie) of Aurora, IL and Sarah Waters (Tom) of Le Mars, IA; and his siblings, Janice Lawton (JC) of Branson, MO, Sandra McMahan (Dale) of Sioux City, IA, Julia Brockhaus of Moville, IA, Judy Bahler of Pahrump, NV, Terri Clark of Sioux City, IA, Becky Clausen of Sioux City, IA, Sara Clausen of La Vista, NE and Gail Clausen II of Van Wert, IA. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Memorials can be made in Gailen's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Iowa.
