It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Slifka of Cresco, Iowa, who passed away on October 16, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Anton Slifka and Ella Slifka (Zotika); his wife Shirlee Malek; his son-in-law Dan Courtney; and his brothers-in-law, Leland Malek, Lavern Zobeck, Donny Gooder and Ron Roberts.
He is survived by : his son Tim Slifka of Cresco; his grandchildren, Cody Courtney (Danielle) of Cresco, Brinley, Kaden, Ryker, Taelyn, Cyle Courtney (Adrianne) of Cresco, Carter, Chloe, Cash, Cari Carmen (Evan) of Cresco, Mason, Blake, Maverick, Max and Cheyann Rodenz (Jett) of Cresco; his great grandchild Rowen; his granddaughter Tina Gomer of Stewartville, MN; his great grandchildren, Adam Brummond (Sarah Lahalih) of Los Angeles, CA and Teddie Lensing of North Liberty, IA; his children, Jon Straube of Longmont, CO and Terri Chapman of Las Vegas, NV.; and also, Salem Rae, Jeff Brummond (Laura) of Whitefish, Mitchel Brummond (Brianna) of Stewartville, MN, Cameron Gomer of Grand Meadow, MN, Jomarie Scholtes (DJ) of Waukon, Katilyn Hughes (Tyrrell) of Thornton and Dominik Lensing (Chelsea) of Cedar Rapids.
