He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll LaVerne and Vera LaVerne Moffitt (Weesner); and his brother LaVerne Moffitt. He is survived by: his former wife Susan Joynes; his son Christopher Moffitt; his wife Sharon Hoffman; his children, Derrick Moffitt (Sarah) of Fort Stewart, Kasey Moffitt of Springfield, Missouri, David L. Moffitt, Jr. of Kellerton, Iowa and Chris Moffitt (Angela) of Osceola, Iowa; his grandchildren, Marcus Moffitt, Marshall Moffitt, Breahna Moffitt, Claire Moffitt, Maggie Moffitt and Dillon Moffitt; and his siblings, Daniel Moffitt (Kimberly) of Osceola, Benjamin Moffitt (Debbie) of Creston, Iowa, Carol Ashby (Rick) of Truro and Diana Robins-Moffitt (Rick) of Murray, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
