He was predeceased by: his wife Gwen; and his daughter Jackie Megrew. He is survived by: his children, Robert Megrew (Dixie) of Taylor, TX, Bill Megrew of Hesperia, Patricia Lujan of Phelan and Denice Megrew (Jamie) of Menifee; his brother Paul of Iowa City; his friend Gerald Sticken of Creston; Jay of Iowa City. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the American Cancer Society.
