It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Arthur Mapel (Danville, Iowa), born in Burlington, Iowa, who passed away on January 7, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, LaMar Mapel and Lois Gretchen Wagner Mapel; his former wife Frances Ann Rump; his daughter Gretchen Gorham (Chris) of Los Angeles, California; his siblings, Martha Jane Jurrema of Coralville and Richard Mapel; Burlington. He was also cherished by four nieces.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the VFW.
