With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Eugene Preszler (Davenport, Iowa), born in Waterloo, Iowa, who passed away on May 26, 2025 at the age of 57. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Douglas Eugene leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Rita Preszler (Wethor) and Jay Preszler; and his brother James. He is also survived by numerous cousins, and many kind friends and neighbors.

Doug was proud of his job as an essential worker at Schnucks Grocery Store during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) in remembrance of Doug's mother, Rita Preszler, and in honor of Doug's advocacy for the organization following her death.
