It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jeffery Bassman of Davenport, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Bassman and Shirley Bassman (Berg). He is survived by: his children, Andrea (Alex) and Kyle (Stefani); his grandchildren, Harper, Barrett, Atessa, Maverick and Ashton; his siblings, Joel and Bobbi; his brother-in-law Bob; and his former wife Melissa.
His love for running propelled him to run dozens of marathons (including the Boston Marathon), over 45 Bix races and led him to donate countless hours of his time for over 40 years as the director of volunteers for the annual Bix 7 race.
