He is survived by : his former life partner Peggy Jean Oltman; his wife Peggy Sherwood of Dike; his children, Julie Leonard (Tim) of Osceola and Brad Sherwood (Carrie) of Dike; his grandchildren, Madeline and Carter Sherwood of Dike; and his siblings, Delmar Sherwood (Carol) of Brooklyn and Denise Abels (John) of Cedar Falls.
