She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Herbst and Lucille Herbst (Grotkin); her siblings, Alverda Krause (Walter), Ray Herbst (Mary), Thelma Valentine (Len), Donnie Herbst (Donna), Eleanor Boyes (Michael), Alan Herbst (Ruth), Rita Klein (Frank), Robert Herbst and Ollie Herbst; and her sister-in-law Shirley Cain.
She is survived by: her husband George Weitzel; her children, Tim Weitzel (Diane) and Tammy Moore (Mark) of Dubuque, IA; her son-in-law Dr. Daniel Fabiano of Cedar Rapids; her daughter Tracy Weitzel Fabiano; her grandchildren, Bradley Weitzel (Meaghan), Erica Weitzel, Connor Moore, Matthew Moore, Jon Moore, Ellen Moore, Anna Fabiano, Joseph Fabiano, Will Fabiano and John Fabiano; her great grandchildren, Mia, William and Hannah Weitzel; her sister Helen Thill (Kenny); and her sister-in-law Patsy Herbst.
A Madonna Weitzel Memorial Fund has been established where donations will be directed to her favorite charities.
