He was predeceased by: his parents, William McDermott and Julia McDermott (Faley); his wife Mabel Bradley of Patrick's Church; his children, Cherry Beth McDermott, Lanz McDermott and Dean McDermott; his son-in-law Mark Schuster; his grandson Jeffery McDermott; his siblings, Melvin McDermott (Loretta), Marie Carmody (Gene), Callista Secker (John), Hazel Woods (Jim), Clare McDermott (Bertha), Bernice Knippel (Clifford) and Luanus Ott Sr. (Roger); his parents-in-law, Truman and Rose Bradley (Kroeger); and his brothers-in-law, Donald Bradley, Kenneth Bradley and Dale Bradley.
He is survived by: his children, Marie Schuster of Dyersville, Kym Hauser (Greg) of Cedar Rapids, Todd McDermott (MaryJo) of Dubuque and Tanya Schlichte (Gene) of Dyersville; his daughter-in-law Sharon McDermott of Marion12; and his sister-in-law Madonna Bradley of Sebring, FL.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
