He is survived by: his wife Virginia Leifker of Mary's Catholic Church; his children, Molly Juergens (Jeff) of Manchester, Sally Schumann (Bill) of Garber, Kathy Platten (Bret) of Marion, Andrew Recker (Vicki) of Dyersville, Keith Recker of Dyersville and Judy Jackson (Ted) of Dyersville; his grandchildren, Jaclyn Felver (Justin), Nick Juergens (Maddy), John Juergens, Brian Schumann (Melissa), Bradley Schumann (Katie), Rebecca Schumann, Brandon Schumann, Amanda Platten, Crystal Platten, Madeline Recker, Josephine Tauke (Avery), Isabella Recker, Vincent Recker, Auden Recker, Kennedy Recker, Marshall Recker, Taylor Jackson (Jack), Caden Jackson (Hannah), Maddix Jackson, Lilly Waterman and Brooks Waterman; his siblings, Lois Taylor, Alice Gudenkauf (Ron), Grace Rahe (Paul) and Joe Recker; and his in-laws, Betty Recker, Jerry Leifker (Carol), Darlene Mickelson, Dorothy Feldmann (Elmer), Ronnie Leifker (Kate), LaVonne Wilgenbush (Tom) and Tom Leifker (Cindy). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Morris Funeral Home (750 12th Ave SW, Dyersville, IA 52040). A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Francis Xavier Basilica (104 3rd St SW, Dyersville, IA 52040). A burial will be held on Monday, August 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at 450 8th St NW, Dyersville, IA 52040.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorials are preferred as the family has established a memorial fund.
