He is survived by: his children, Clay Ashley (Heather) of Moville, IA, Doug Ashley (Kendra) of Ruthven, IA, David Herwig (Amanda) of Early, IA, Casey Herwig of Cherokee, IA and Rebecca Brooks (Devin) of Manchester, IA; his grandchildren, Cole, Everett Ashley, Summer and Callie Wendt; and his sister Carol Herwig (George Morgan) of Washington, DC. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
