He was predeceased by: his parents, James Platt and Rita Platt (Hinrich); and his siblings, Marilyn and John. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Freese; his children, Jennifer Wolterman (Tony) of Early, IA, Christopher Platt (Stacy) of Early, IA and Donna Ladehoff (Justin Gosch) of Newell, IA; his grandchildren, Lorenzo Jacinto (Caty), Cody Bales, Carlie Bales, Allie Jo Bales, Jordan Wehmeyer (AJ), Mackenna Wehmeyer (Lakota), Piper Ladehoff, Boen Ladehoff, Phoebe Ladehoff, Ty Gosch, Caytlin Gosch and Ava Bendixen; his great grandchildren, Ibana and Adrian Jacinto; and his siblings, Richard Platt, Bob Platt (Nancy), Donny Platt (Sheryl), Tom Platt (Lynn), Randy Platt, Lois Carmen, Shirley Stadler, Connie Bronnenberg (Curt), Judy Warren (Ron) and Janet Lightfoot. He is also survived by many extended family and several friends.
