He was predeceased by : his parents, John Bassett and Augusta Bassett (Luhrs); his wife Esther Kopaska; and his brother Merle Bassett. He is survived by : his children, Colleen Holland (Larry) of Bloomington and Dr. Mark Bassett of Frederick, Maryland.; his granddaughters, Brittany Harman of Davenport, Sabrina Holmes of Bloomington and Dr. Shelby Bassett of Shreveport, Louisiana; and his siblings, Myrna Whetstone of Casey, Iowa and Glen Bassett of Clive.
