It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patrick McDermott (Epworth, Iowa), who passed away on November 20, 2019, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent McDermott and Mary McDermott (Horsfield); his brother Ralph McDermott; and his siblings-in-law, Ione Engler Patti (Chuck), Phyllis Oberfoell, Milton Oberfoell (Irene), Francis "Ducky" Oberfoell, Fred Kramer, William Domas and Gary King.
He is survived by: his wife Helen McDermott of Epworth, IA; his children, Barry McDermott of Epworth, Mindi McDermott of Epworth, Roger McDermott of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Paul McDermott (Nancy Goebel) of Springville, Marci Wertzberger (Greg) of Hiawatha, Ross McDermott (Tammy) of Cedar Falls and Jamie McDermott (Kathy) of Urbandale; his sisters, Mary Lou Kramer of Epworth, Lucille Re (William) of Cinncinnati, OH and Darlene King of Canton, IL; and his siblings-in-law, Ileen Domas of Montclair, CA, Verna McDermott (Dorrance) of Epworth, Jean Oberfoell of Epworth, Leo "Mike" Oberfoell of Liberty, MO and Jim Brady of Dewitt, IA.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
