With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Lou Johnson of Essex, Iowa, who passed away on June 21, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Adelbert and Launah Annette Harris (Branstetter); her husband Lynn; her sons, Randal Lynn and John Michael; her grandson Jim Royer; her grandson-in-law Chase Heinold; and her brother Charles Blankenship.
She is survived by: her children, Rhonda Royer (Jay) of Blue Eye, MO and Howard Johnson (Christy) of Essex, IA; her grandchildren, Edi Bond (Jesse), Tyler Johnson (Taylor), Whitney Heinold, Kendria Johnson and Jennalynn Johnson; her great grandchildren, Brock, Lennox Johnson, Gwen, Blair and Bodhi Heinold; her siblings, Bonnie Lantz, Garry Harris (Vickie) and Phillip Harris (Cathy); and her close friends, Les and Carla Kirchert.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary Lou's name are being directed to the Essex Library Foundation.
