She was predeceased by : her parents, Egbertus Groote and Bertha Groote (Grave); and her grandmother Ida. She is survived by : her children, Karen Kirchner (Darrel), Leona Susan, Robert Joseph, Ruth Pieper (Wendell), Sally Meany (Patrick), Anita Ellison, John Klinkenborg (Sandy Lursen) and Todd Klinkenborg. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel-Estherville (401 N 7th St, Estherville, IA 51334). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
