He was predeceased by : his parents, Jon Egeland and Mary Egeland (Opelt); and his nephews, Thomas Bortvit and Cody Mustard. He is survived by : his son Chris; his wife Patti Egeland; his son Kyle Egeland; his siblings, Sue Dalen, Kathy Enderson (Kenny), Diane Luke (Alvin), Al Egeland (Leticia) and Sheila Bortvit (Darryl); and his niece Brittany Dahl. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
