He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert Shannon and Mary Shannon; his son Mike Shannon; and his siblings, Charles Shannon (Rose) and Karen Grantham (Robert).

He is survived by : his wife Holly Wilcox; his children, Rick Shannon of Fairbank and Sherry Wiley (John) of Elkader; his granddaughters, Kaitlyn, Alivia and Shannon; his sister Janice Stanek (Ralph); and his sisters-in-law, Janice Wuebben and Joan Walz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
