She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward P. Schissel and Theresa Inez Schissel (Meyer); her husband Don of Benedict's Catholic Church; and her siblings, Dale, Luke and Nancy.
She is survived by: her son Chad Smith of Iowa City; and her sister Barbara Winter of Hawkeye, Iowa.. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cranston Family Funeral Home (1517 Broad St, Keosauqua, IA 52565). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Purdom Cemetery.
