He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Nyhus and Tillie Nyhus; his brother Norman; his sister-in-law Delores Nyhus; and his nephew Ronald Nyhus.

He is survived by: his nephew Roger Nyhus (Bonnie); his great-nephew Craig Nyhus (Laura); his great-niece Laura Nyhus of Gilbert, AZ.; and also Carter of Sioux Falls, SD.
