He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Ruebel and Mae Swanson Ruebel; his sister Donna Clough; and his siblings-in-law, Lawrence Clough, Richard Steckelberg, Maury Tomlinson, Larry Hiveley and Shirley Chase.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline Hiveley; his children, Gary Ruebel (Barb) of Des Moines, Tim Ruebel (Peggy) of Afton, Missouri and Karen Lawler (Terry) of Clare; and his sisters-in-law, Louellen Steckelberg, Carol Tomlinson and Michelle Engelbrect of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and spouses, 17 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or Journeys at Friendship Haven.
