Richard left this world on October 29, 2025 at the age of 83, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Hoffman and Verta Hoffman (Melton); his daughter Rhonda Chisholm; and his brother Kenny Hoffman. He is survived by: his children, Tammy Lender (Jeff) of Grinnell, Monte Hoffman (Melissa) of Alaska, Steve Hoffman (Penny) of Marshalltown and Michele Fox (Graham) of Arizona; his grandchildren, John Nichols, Jamie Allspach, Michael Fisher, Jessy Wobschall of Chad Hoffman, C. J, Shane Hoffman, Blane Wilkens, Colton Chisholm, Amanda Mach, Taylor Hoffman, Logan Hoffman, Kori Fox and Kendra Fox; and his close friend Bertha Deaton. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory (1115 E 19th St N, Newton, IA 50208-2539). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital may be left at the funeral home.
