He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl J. Callaway and Margaret Callaway (Eggleston); and his granddaughter Amanda Callaway. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Schwartz; his children, Jana Bollmeier (Paul) of Whitten and Jason Callaway (Rebekah) of Anamosa; his grandchildren, Isaiah Callaway of Ames, Nichole, Kyla, Isabella Callaway of Anamosa, Erin Bollmeier of New Orleans and Audrey Sorlie (Kevin) of Eagan, MN.; and his siblings, Larry Callaway (Betty) of Conrad and Garnet "Jeanne" Van Patter (Chuck) of Wilmington, IL..

Memorials may be directed to Leukemia and Lymphoma society for fighting blood cancers or the Iowa River Hospice Home.
