He is survived by: his children, Melvin Smith (Connie) of Sioux City, IA, Kenneth Smith (Corinna) of Harlan, IA, Christine Smith of Minneapolis, MN and Pam Frieze of Council Bluffs, IA; and his siblings, Betty Malone of Griswold, IA and Tommy Frieze of Council Bluffs, IA.. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
