He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Rold and Esther Larsen Rold; his wife Phyllis Verlee Nielsen; his sons, Monte and Bruce; and his siblings, Vivian Goff and Paul Rold.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Rold (Becky) of Elk Horn, Iowa, Brett Rold (Rose) of Brayton, Iowa and Julie Rold (Gaige Knudson) of Harlan, Iowa; his sister Ruth Thompson of Elk Horn, Iowa; and his pet Hazel. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
