She was predeceased by: her husband Fred Swarthout; her parents, Edward Luke and Emma Luke; and her sisters, Jessie Scott, Lucille (Joe Seddon), Betty (Darvin Dare), Darlene (Gene Swarthout) and Marilyn (James Swanson).
She is survived by: her children, Emma Luke (May), Edward Erben of Madrid, Jack Lee (Donna) of Newton and Spain; her grandchildren, Kelly Jo Swarthout of California, Eric Zane Swarthout of California, Kirk Edward Swarthout of California, Ronald Swarthout (Mariciel) of Pennsylvania and Travis Swarthout of Newton; her great grandchildren, Ryan Swarthout and Brandon Wolfe; and her daughter-in-law Linda Swarthout of Long Beach, CA.. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to EveryStep Hospice, 213 E. Main St., Ste 103, Knoxville, IA 50138-2526.
