He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Toohey and Helen Toohey (Thelen); his wife Evelyn Niemeyer; his parents-in-law, Walter and Alma Niemeyer; his sons, Scott and Todd Toohey; his siblings-in-law, Tom Carroll and Mary Niemeyer; his nephew Brian Berte; and also Paul Niemeyer.
He is survived by: his close friends, Evelyn, Monte Bill and Patrick; his children, Theresa Reardon (Mike) of Spencer, Vern Toohey (Laura) of Clear Lake, Monte Bill Toohey of LuVerne, Patrick Toohey (Anna) of Humboldt and LeRoy Toohey (Jodie) of Camanche; his grandchildren, Chris (Manasi), Nick (Kelsey), Patrick (Alicia), Ashley, Joe, Alyson, Kaitlea and Riley; his great grandchildren, Cayla, Claire, Hazel, Charlotte, Evelyn, Amara and Kieran; his sisters, Beth Carroll of LuVerne and Mary Berte (George) of Phoenix, AZ; and his brother-in-law Tim Niemeyer of Ames. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Humboldt County Hospice.
