James Theodore Huxford Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Theodore Huxford (Huxley, Iowa), who passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry and Lelia Huxford (Lockard); his former wife Celeste (Thompson); his brother Fred Wellen; and his son-in-law Chris Sutton.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy Huxford (Holland); his children, Cindy Vandenburg, Brad Huxford (Paige), Kelly Sutton (Chris), Tim Huxford (Julie), Susie Huxford and Holly Worsham (John); and his grandchildren, JD Vandenburg (Abigail), Amy Vandenburg, Kyle Sutton, Jessica Schuessler (Landon), Kari Sandquist (Tom), Jacob Huxford (Jordan), Ellen Longnecker (Garrett), Casey Huxford, Jennie Huxford, Taylor Westrope and Seth Boyd. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Palestine Lutheran Church (1375 IA-210, Huxley, IA 50124). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to Israel Family Hospice House, 400 South Dakota Ave, Ames, Iowa 50014 or True Impact Outdoors 1314 255th Ave. Osceola, IA 50213.
