He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Jerry, Wilma Akers (Price), Lou and Bernice Bebber (Batcheldar); his aunt Patricia Hinegardner; and his uncle Larry Bebber.
He is survived by: his parents, Jerry D. Akers and Nancy L. Akers (Bebber) of Central City, Iowa; his siblings, Suzanne Akers of Cedar Rapids, Jerry D. Akers, Jr. (Mickey) of Palo, Bradley Akers (Dawn) of Cedar Rapids, Scott Akers (LuAnn) of Fairmont and Jeffrey Akers (Kathy) of Oskaloosa, Iowa; his uncles, Merle Akers (Joan) of Central City and Mark Bebber (Julie) of Cedar Rapids; and his aunt Maxine Bebber. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
