It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alice Jean (Jonkheer) Gray Mitchell in Indianola, Iowa, born in Cedar Falls, Iowa, who passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 104, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Bert Jonkheer and Florence Jonkheer; her siblings, Iris Spears (Stanley), Camilla Davis (Homer) and William Jonkheer (Elaine); her former life partner Arthur H. Gray; her siblings-in-law, Beulah Gray and Wallace Gray (Ione); her son-in-law Loren Burkhalter; and also Fred Mitchell.
She is survived by : her children, Cheryl Evans (Robert) of St. Joseph, Lucinda Burkhalter of Chariton and Rex H. Gray of Ankeny, Iowa; and her stepchildren, Dale Mitchell (Dawn) of Fallbrook, California, Ron Mitchell (Jeanette) of Vista, California and Sharon Manakas (Vance) of Moorpark, California.. She is also survived by six grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, nineteen step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
