He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Fitzsimmons and Bernice Mae Fitzsimmons (Messer); his wife Marlene Joyce Hugen; and his siblings, Larry and Wanda.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Fitzsimmons (Pam) of Pella, IA, Joy Mock (Devin) of Grapevine, TX and Jill Carpenter (Greg) of Indianola, IA; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Mackenzie, Nash, Kayla, Cory, Cassie and Keagan. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
An open memorial has been established to the family.
