It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilynn Kay VanZanten (Indianola, Iowa), who passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Marilynn Kay VanZanten to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen L. Maples and Donald E. Maples; her son Richard L. Van Zanten Jr.; her brother Donald J. Maples; the father of her children Richard L. Van Zanten Sr.; her husband Larry D. Peters Sr.; her siblings-in-law, Marcy Maples and Wayne H. Hansbrough; and her stepsons, Larry Dean Peters Jr. and Kelly Peters.
She is survived by: her sister Caroline Hansbrough; her children, Madalyn Anderson (John) and Raymond E. Van Zanten; and her stepsons, Rick Peters (Teesha) and Sam Peters (Dawn). She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Salem Connection (222 W Salem Ave, Indianola, IA 50125).
