He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. James H. Welsh and Pauline Welsh (Gumerson). He is survived by: his wife Eunice Welsh; his son Mark Welsh (Nancy); his granddaughter Sarah Welsh Nelson of Iowa City; his stepchildren, Becky Scherschell of Irving Texas and Warren Hanlin (Bonnie) of West Branch; his stepgrandchildren, Ryan Scherschell of Dallas and Darby Jones (Brad) of Seattle; his great grandchildren, Emma Nelson of Iowa City, Aidan Nelson of Iowa City, Sawyer Miller of Iowa City, Riley Miller of Iowa City and Phoebe Miller of Iowa City; and his great great grandchild Kai Nelson.
